     JoJo McToy, born and raised in the Bronx, NY, began his D.J career at the age of 12 while attending St. Raymond’s Junior High. “I was always giving the job of entertainment at school functions and I always played the role of M.C for presentations. My first set of turntables was the SLB-100’S. It seemed a microphone and a crowd was always in front of me. I grew up with Hip Hop from it’s beginning and respected it roots.”

     JoJo had no idea of a career in radio until a very special visitor came to St. Raymond’s during the school’s “Career Day” celebration. “ The late “Chief Rocker” Frankie Crocker came to the school and the principle asked me to show him around school and at the time Frank was the “King of N.Y radio”.” I was so nervous but I still held my own, cracking jokes, and letting my personality take over. Frankie told that I would make a great radio D.J and it was like God spoke to me and that’s all she wrote”.

     JoJo went on to attend St. Raymond’s High School where he excelled in Football and Baseball where he was nominated All-City as a Tight End in Football and a pitcher in baseball and was selected to an All-City team that played a summer tour in Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and South America. “ I will always remember that time because of the different cultures I saw and the big crowds I played in front of.”

     JoJo went to earn a scholarship to Alabama State University and won “Freshman of the Year” honors and 1^st Team All-SWAC Conference as a sophomore. His career was cut short his junior season after tearing an ACL ligament, MCL ligament, and a dislocated left knee. “I was told that I would always have a limp and wouldn’t be able to run with the same speed I had so it was another crossroad I had to face. I started doing the public address and play-by- play for the basketball and football teams and I was approached by the Program Director of WZHT, Hot 105.7 and they asked if I wanted a job, funny how things work out sometimes.”

      JoJo learned radio and hasn’t looked back since. Working for such great Program Directors as Steve Myers, Monica May, Michael Long, Phillip March, Hurricane Dave, Steve King, and Dale Flint. “ I’ve been blessed to know these good people and have learned how to and how not to treat people, I hope to bring radio to a new level of entertainment and make it fun again. “I’ve worked all day parts and held various positions. If I was to best describe myself I would say if Wendy Williams and Frankie Crocker had a baby they would name him JoJo McToy, the “Bad Boy”.” I’ve infected cities in Alabama, Georgia and Florida and your city could be next.
