Taylor Bryant Bio

Focused, energetic, and gifted doesn’t begin to describe radio rookie Taylor Bryant, better known as “Ms. Buckle Up and Be Safe.” The Decatur, Georgia native has always had a love for Alabama because of her education and training from Alabama State University. Moving to New Yorkto pursue an advanced degree and radio opportunities, Taylor quickly got all the necessary skills at large market stations WPLJ, WNYC, and BET Radio Network. Ready to apply knowledge, Taylor returned to her old stomping ground and quickly made a name for herself as a community leader and youth advocate in Montgomery. She has been recognized and awarded for her skills in producing, hostingHOT S.H.O.T.S. (Students Honest Opinions’ on True Subjects), and planning the best community outreach projects. She was most recently named the “Woman to Watch” for her efforts in female and teen outreach. Taylor loves her job as Public Service Director because it requires her to constantly give of herself. A living proof, Taylor believes “you don’t give because you have, but you have because you give.”

BULLYING

Bullying affects ALL of our children--those who bully, those who are victimized, and those who are witnesses or assistants to interpersonal violence. We can and must reduce this age-old problem. Every day thousands of teens wake up afraid to go to school. Bullying is a problem that affects millions of students.

The hardest part about bullying is stopping it. Often times victims do not know how to stand up for themselves and many children do not tell anyone that the bullying is occuring due to fears of retaliation or increased bullying. When teaching children about bullying introduce them to K.A.R.M.A.

K.A.R.M.A. stands for Kids Against Ridicule Meanness and Agression. More than an acronym, K.A.R.M.A. is a crusade to end bullying in school-aged children across the nation. The mission of K.A.R.M.A. is to teach children to understand the power of their words, to think of the feelings of others before they speak, and to always stand strong.

Standing S.T.R.O.N.G. teaches children how to deal with a bully:

  • Say something
  • Tell someone
  • Respect the feelings of others
  • Offer a helping hand to those in need
  • Never use your words to hurt others
  • Give your best everyday in everything you do
