The Best
Man
Sequel Slated for Christmas Release

Taye Diggs, Nia Long, The Best Man

Here's a Valentine's Day gift for fans of The Best Man: the classic romantic comedy
is finally getting a sequel!

Fourteen years after the release of the
original film, starring Taye Diggs as an
up-and-coming author caught between his old flame (Nia Long) and his current love (Sanaa Lathan), Long confirms that a
sequel is in the works and slated for a Christmas release.

"I’m
getting ready to play Jordan Armstrong again," the actress tells Urban Daily,
referring to her cult favorite character of a romantically complex book
publisher. "We start [shooting] in April, so I’m excited to relive Jordan. She’s
very feisty, very organized, and knows what she wants. She’s all about business.
But I think you’re going to see her find her heart in the sequel. That’s her big
challenge."

No word yet on how many from the original
ensemble cast, which also included Morris Chestnut, Terrence Howard and Regina Hall, will be returning for the
long-awaited sequel.

Stevie Wonder Offended by Lil Wayne’s Emmett Till Lyric

Stevie Wonder, Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne has been catching slack from everyone over his vulgar
verse
on a remix to Future’s "Karate Chop" that leaked
over the weekend. In the verse, Weezy makes a bad choice in words when he spits
a lyric comparing a woman’s anatomy to Emmett Till’s horrific death. The racy
line, “Beat that p—y up like Emmett Till,” shocked many.

The Till family immediately expressed their anger to both Wayne and
Future’s label, Epic Records. Now, Stevie Wonder has something to say
about the Young Money rapper’s words. He opened up about Lil Wayne’s
controversial lyric in an interview on
Thursday.

"You can’t equate that to Emmett Till. You
just cannot do that. … I think you got to have someone around you that – even if
they are the same age or older – is wiser to say, 'Yo, that's not happening.
Don’t do that.'"

"Sometimes people have to put themselves in
the place of people who they are talking about. Imagine if that happened to your
mother, brother, daughter or your son. How would you feel? Have some discernment
before we say certain things. That goes for me or any other (song) writer,"
Wonder added.

As a friend of Lil Wayne and a fan, Wonder
just hopes that Weezy understands the impact of his words.

Lil Wayne Signs Daughter Reginae Carter to
Young Money

Reginae Carter, Lil Wayne

The Young Money crew welcomes its newest
member, Reginae Carter. The 14-year-old
singer, formerly of The OMG Girlz, will be taking her
talents to the label her father, Lil Wayne, has made famous. During Cash Money’s Pre-Grammy party, Rap-Up TV caught
up with Young Money president Mack Maine
and announced, "Wayne’s daughter, Reginae, is actually signed to Young Money
now."

Mack Maine sang Reginae’s praises and insists
she is destined for success because of her talented blood line. "Just expect
greatness. She’s Toya [Wright's] daughter and Wayne’s
daughter, so that’s a great combination. She’s a mega-star."

In 2010 Reginae left the OMG Girlz, a group
assembled by Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, before the trio
became a teen pop success. The young Carter will have a lot of pressure on her
to bring it as a solo act given that she is the heiress to the Young Money
throne.

Mack Maine also revealed some other recent
signings by the label which include newbies PJ Morton, Torion Sellers and We the Future.

“Right now, I’m trying to get the
Young Money young’ns going,” said Maine.
