Waka issued a public statement to the media mogul after old footage of him calling her an "ugly b-----" and referencing the 59-year-old billionaire in a sexual manner, leaked online this week.
"I feel obligated to take responsibility for my actions and publicly apologize to Oprah," he tells TMZ. "My remarks about you were both extremely unnecessary and disrespectful. This regretful situation made me look at women and how I address them in a more responsible way."
He goes on to state that mom/manager Debrah Antney was "disgusted" by the clip and helped him in realizing the mistake.
Radar Online was first to publish the 21-second video in which another male can be heard saying that Winfrey has a "million dollar p----."
Oprah hasn't responded to the controversy, but this isn't the first time that Waka has pondered the effects of disrespectful wordplay. He tackled the issue with Hot 97's Angie Martinez last summer, explaining how his young step-daughter inspired him to tone things down.
"That’s why I don’t like degrading women, though," he told the radio personality. "If I degrade women, she's gonna grow up and listen to that. If I make it cool to degrade women, she gon' be like ‘Damn, my n---- could degrade me.'"
Is Keisha Knight-Pulliam ready to walk down the aisle? The National Enquirer reports that the former Cosby Show star is engaged to rumored boyfriend Big Tigger.
The gossip rag also claims Knight-Pulliam wants both her biological father, and her TV dad Bill Cosby to walk her down the aisle on her big day. “Keshia’s stayed close to Bill and talks to him often,” an insider claims. “She respects him and values his advice, and they’ve developed a close friendship. Keshia doesn’t want to slight her parents, but she would love it if Bill could walk her down the aisle in a symbolic gesture along with her own father. It would make her special day even more special.”
The actress was first spotted with the former 106 & Park host at a basketball game in Atlanta this past August, and the pair "confirmed" their relationship via an coupled-up selfie on Instagram. Big T later gushed, "our love is awesome!"
Thor 2: The Dark World thundered into theaters this weekend and captured first place. The action epic, starring Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman, grossed $86.1 million at the North American box office, bringing its worldwide total to $327 million. Idris Elba also stars in the Marvel pic.
Jackass: Bad Grandpa followed in second place, with animated family
12 Years a Slave dominated among specialty films in theaters this weekend, pulling in another $6.6 million as the film rolls out nationwide. The film continues to perform well due to incredibly strong critical reviews and deafening Oscar buzz.
Next week, The Best Man Holiday finally hits theaters! Let's see if director Malcolm D. Lee joins Antoine Fuqua, Spike Lee and Lee Daniels in the very exclusive club of Black directors whose films have grossed more than $100 million.

Later in the 90-second exchange, Keef — whose latest jail stint stemmed from a May speeding ticket — introduces his alleged driver (a friend walking next to him) and proclaims himself "grow'd up," before changing the statement to "glowed up," as the clip ends.
Keef was released from jail in Chicago Friday (Nov. 8), and was sentenced to rehab after he failed a string of random drug tests. He is expected to spend the next three months at an undisclosed
Afterwards, the "I Don't Like" rhymer will begin work at Horsefeathers equestrian center, aimed at "using horses and ponies to improve the quality of life for children and adults" with disabilities.
Those discrepancies in DMX's bankruptcy case caught up to him Friday (Nov. 8), reports The Hollywood Reporter. A federal judge dismissed his Chapter 11 filing, citing "obvious inconsistencies regarding his income and assets."
X has been attempting to reorganize his finances after racking up $1.3 million in child support claims. But in his paperwork, for example, he listed his income at $5,000 per month in one filing and $1,667 in another. He also claimed that he spent $1000 per month on clothes, but counted $0 worth of clothes as an asset. The judged said it was "impossible to ascertain his financial affairs."
Now, the rapper is left vulnerable to his
Previously, Nati explained that it was "poor financial management" by X's previous reps that got him into these circumstances.
Jay Z is continuing to add to his offerings for this holiday season. In addition to his Hublot watch and a fashion collection through Barney's New York, the rapper is also releasing a new fragrance this month. Gold Jay Z, which will become available November 20, will be part of his collaboration with the famed department store and will also be sold at over 2,000 other stores nationwide.
According to WWD, you'll be seeing promo ads for Gold Jay Z everywhere with spots on Facebook, Yahoo! Sports, Spotify, ESPN, GQ.com, billboard and various in-store presentations. There will even be free samples of the scent handed out in front of Broadway theaters in New York City during Thanksgiving weekend.
Retail prices will range from $39 for the 30-ml. size, $55 for 50 ml. and $70 for 90 ml. You'll also be able to get the scent in an aftershave, a deodorant and a shower gel. Will you be grabbing a bottle for yourself or someone special on your list?
Kerry Washington's turn as host of Saturday Night Live was not only a hit with critics and castmates — they gave her a standing ovation — but with audiences, too. Washington's episode of the sketch comedy show, which aired this past Saturday, was the highest-rated of the season, according to NBC. In fact, the episode was most popular with viewers since Justin Timberlake's March 9 turn.
The Scandal star was praised by critics for her humorous yet direct approach to SNL's recent diversity controversy (cast members Jay Pharoah and Kenan Thompson called out the show for its lack of Black female comedians). In the opening sketch, Washington played everyone from Oprah Winfrey to Michelle Obama before an omniscient voice apologized to the actress for requiring her to play all the Black female roles.
While the decision to have Washington host may have been conveniently timed to diffuse the tension the long-running show has been facing lately, its hard to deny that SNL and Washington did a stellar job to both address and move past the bad press. Olivia Pope would be proud.
Nnamdi Asomugha is going to have more time on his hands to be a doting husband and father. The football player, who is expecting his first child with wife Kerry Washington, was released from his contract with the San Francisco 49ers, according to the team's website. The cornerback signed a one-year contract with the football club this past April but is being replaced after he hyperextended his knee.
Asomugha, who played for the Oakland Raiders and Philadephia Eagles before joining the 49ers, is having a tremendous year even in spite of Monday's disappointing news. He married Washington in a secret ceremony this past July, and the couple announced last week that they are expecting a baby next year.
Hopefully, the NFL player will be back on his feet and playing again soon, but even if his football career slows down, he has acting to fall back on. Asomugha already has a handful of roles under his belt, from a stint on The Game to a cameo on Friday Night Lights.
In the mean time, it could get a lot worse than spending time with his beautiful wife and preparing for fatherhood.
