PETA has slammed Bey's halftime costume choice, which was made from python and iguana

(WENN) - Beyonce has been criticized by animal rights activists for sporting an outfit made from python and iguana at her half-time Super Bowl show on Sunday.

Bey took to the stage at the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana in a black bodysuit by designer Rubin Singer, made of python skin, panelled iguana, and leather.

Now, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has slammed Beyonce's costume choice, just weeks after she was criticized for wearing a mink coat at President Barack Obama's Inauguration Ceremony last month.

A PETA spokesperson tells the New York Daily News, "We would take a bet that if Beyonce watched our video exposes, she'd probably not want to be seen again in anything made of snakes, lizards, rabbits or other animals who died painfully. Today's fashions are trending toward humane vegan options, and Beyonce's Super Bowl outfit missed the mark on that score."
