(WENN) - Willow Smith will no longer play little orphan Annie in her dad Will Smith's planned revamp of the beloved musical.
The singer/actress was 10 years old when the project was announced back in 2011, but the 12 year old will no longer take the lead because "she has outgrown the role", reports Deadline.com.
Willow's replacement has not yet been announced.
Movie star Will Smith, who remade The Karate Kid with his son Jaden, is producing the modern remake with rapper Jay-Z, while Friends With Benefits director Will Gluck has been tapped to take charge.
Shooting is scheduled to begin in the fall with a slated 2014 release date.
